Guía de Instagram para Oporto / Porto Instagram Spots

Oporto es siempre una buena idea... al menos para mí. Una de las ciudades con más encanto de todo Portugal se encuentra a poco más de una hora de Vigo, por lo que quizás sea una de las ciudades que más he visitado en mi vida.

En nuestra última visita a esta ciudad portuguesa hemos ido a la caza y captura de sus mejores Instagram Spots. Aunque casi nos derretimos en el intento - el calor de estos días era difícilmente soportable - hemos encontrado unos cuantos y aunque nunca son suficientes, he vuelto muy contenta por que sé que Oporto siempre consigue sorprenderme con su belleza.

¡Empezamos!

Porto is always a great idea... at least it always works for me! One of the most charming cities in Portugal is around one hour away from Vigo and that's the reason #1 why I usually visit Porto more than once a year.

During our latest visit we were trying to capture Porto's best instagram spots. We almost melted while trying to do so, it was baking hot! However we found some of them and I will come back soon for more.

Capela das Almas

Probablemente esta sea la fachada más bonita de todo Oporto. Situada en la calle de las tiendas, es una de las más bonitas de la ciudad con más de 16.000 azulejos pintados a mano.

Dónde: Rua de Santa Catarina, 128.

Probably, the most beautiful façade in Porto. It looks superbe with more than 16000 blue tiles! It's located in the shopping area and it looks freaking good on instagram ;)

Ribeira

Si hay algún lugar que no debes perderte en Oporto es la zona de Ribeira. Es el área más cercana al Río Duero y allí se puede disfrutar de una de las vistas más características de la ciudad con el puente Don Luis I, las pequeñas casitas de colores y las bodegas al otro lado del río.

This is Porto #1 place in Porto for most tourists. Allocated just where the Douro river lies, you will get the most stunning view of the city from there. Just go to any terrace and enjoy its little buildings, the Don Luis I bridge and the view of Gaia's wineries.

Avenida dos Aliados

Avenida dos Aliados es el corazón de la ciudad. Presidida por el Ayuntamiento de la ciudad, está rodeada por majestuosos edificios modernistas y allí encontrarás también el Mcdonalds más bonito del mundo, con una cristalera que ojalá perteneciese a un café clásico :)

El tranvía / The tram

No hay duda: ¡Oporto te pone en forma! La ciudad está constituida por tal entramado de cuestas que recorrerla a pie puede ser considerado deporte. La mejor forma de explorar la ciudad es caminando, pero si te encuentras sin fuerzas siempre puedes tomar uno de los clásicos tranvías que recorren la ciudad.

Si viajas a la ciudad sin transporte propio, toma el tranvía desde Ribeira hasta la desembocadura del río en Foz do Douro para disfrutar también de la playa :)

Porto is full of hills so you won't need to work out extra while in there. The best way to get around is walking, but if you need a break you can always take the classic tram: they're beautiful!

If you don't have your own a car while in Porto, take the tram from Ribeira to Foz do Douro so you can also enjoy the seaside :)

Estación de Sao Bento / Sao Bento Railway Station

Las playas de Foz do Douro / Foz do Douro seaside

Si necesitas el mar tanto como yo, plantéate visitar Foz do Douro desde Oporto. Es tan fácil como tomar el tranvía o pasear por la ribera del Duero durante una hora... una buena idea tanto en verano como en invierno.

Consejo: dirígete a Praia dos Ingleses o a Praia da Luz, dos terrazas que se encuentran sobre la arena desde las que puedes disfrutar de una de las mejores puestas de sol.

If you need the ocean as much as I do, make sure to visit Foz do Douro from Porto. It's as easy as taking the tram or walk along the Douro river for around one hour... and it's a perfect plan either for summer or winter.

Tip: head to Praia dos Ingleses or Praia da Luz, 2 awesome places to chill and have a fino (a beer) with a perfect view over the Atlantic Ocean - do not miss the sunsets!

Las fachadas con encanto / The beautiful façades

Las fachadas de Oporto te enamorarán. Encontrarás los típicos azulejos por todas partes pero también mucho street art y pequeñas tiendas con encanto como A Pérola do Bolhao.

You'll be amazed by Porto's beautiful façades. You'll find some covered with tiles, tons of street art and the cutest little shops as A Pérola do Bolhao.

Livraria Lello / Lello Library

Te soy sincera: todavía no he visitado esta librería que inspiró a J. K. Rowling mientras escribía Harry Potter. La experiencia me parece demasiado turística ya que incluso tienen a una persona disfrazada en la entrada para darte la bienvenida... y sacar una foto allí debe ser incluso más difícil que en Santorini ;)

Si quieres visitarla, la entrada cuesta unos 3€ que se descuentan si compras algún libro.

To be honest I've never been to this library. It inspired J.K. Rowling in some way to write Harry Potter saga and because of that now it's packed with tourists that usually have to queue... and they even have a guy in disguise in the entrance! Shooting there might be a challenging activity, even more than in Santorini ;)

If you want to visit it, you have to pay an entrance fee (around 3€) but good news: you'll get a refund if you buy a book :)

"It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live". 💫 •••• Had to throw a little Harry Potter quote in given this is the very bookshop that inspired J.K Rowling with the Hogwarts Library! 😱 Naturally, this little bookstore in Porto is now crawling with tourists- to the point where they now charge an entry fee to get inside. If you can look past the crowds, it's still pretty spellbinding! PS. In case you were wondering, it took a LOT of patience and a wee bit of PS sorcery to get a shot without anyone in it 🙈
